About the role

As a Chef in our Japanese restaurant at Tokiwa Collective in Iskandar Puteri Johor, you will play a vital role in supporting our experienced Japanese Chef in delivering exceptional Japanese cuisine. This is a full-time position where you will assist in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations to ensure the highest standards of quality and service.

What youll be doing

• Assist in the preparation of a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura and other specialities

• Follow recipes and cooking methods precisely to maintain consistency and quality

• Ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas are cleaned and sanitised according to health and safety standards

• Provide support to the head chef and other cooks as needed to meet service demands

• Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve kitchen efficiency and the guest dining experience

What were looking for

• Previous experience as a cook or chef, particularly in a Japanese restaurant setting

• Knowledge of traditional Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures accurately

• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team

• Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive work environment
