QAQC Mechanical inspector
1. Inspection & Quality Assurance
• Perform inspections on mechanical works including piping, pressure vessels, HVAC, rotating/static equipment, and welding activities.
• Verify compliance of materials and workmanship against project specifications, engineering drawings, and international codes such as ASME, API, and ISO 9001.
• Conduct fit-up, visual, and dimensional inspections, including welding and mechanical installation works.
2. Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, non-conformance reports (NCR), and other QAQC documentation.
• Ensure accurate documentation for welding procedures, WPS/PQR/WPQ, hydrotest packs, and material traceability (MTCs).
• Assist in the preparation and review of mechanical work dossiers for client handover.
3. Testing & Verification
• Witness and review mechanical testing (e.g., hydrostatic, pneumatic tests) and ensure compliance with approved ITPs and method statements.
• Monitor third-party inspections and coordinate corrective/preventive actions when quality issues arise.
4. Coordination & Compliance
• Work closely with construction, engineering, and subcontractor teams to resolve quality issues and improve site implementation.
• Ensure that all mechanical quality works comply with internal QAQC policies and local statutory requirements.
5. HSE & Ad-Hoc Support
• Comply with and support the implementation of site HSE standards and procedures during inspections.
• Assist in any ad-hoc QAQC-related tasks assigned by QAQC Manager or Project Manager.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of QAQC systems, inspection procedures, and international codes such as ASME, API, ISO 9001, and JKKP Requirements.
• Certified in relevant QAQC inspection schemes (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, NDT Level II in PT, MT, UT, RT is an advantage).
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Familiar with QAQC tools, ITP, checklists, and Microsoft Office.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of working experience as a QAQC Mechanical Inspector in EPCC, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience with welding inspections, mechanical equipment installation, and pressure testing works.
• Familiar with local and international regulatory standards (e.g., DOSH, ASME, API).
