Senior Project Controller

Hitachi Energys Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, facilitating reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimal environmental impact. We incorporate integrated systems, solutions, and services across our DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission, distribution, and e-transportation solutions. We are seeking a professional to act as a business partner to the Operation Manager and Project Managers, responsible for all financial and commercial matters, actively driving project performance across multiple projects. How youll make an impact:

As part of the Project Execution Plan, you will manage all financial, commercial, and tax aspects, including revenue recognition, billing, payment securities, GST, other taxes, consortium administration, project invoicing, and liquidation of outstanding amounts. You will also handle currency risk, tax issues, bonds, guarantees, and coordinate financial accounting and reporting, including project site accounting. You will work to optimize project cash flow, revenues, and gross margin contributions, collaborating with Project Managers. You will prepare and circulate Financial MIS reports to keep the team informed of financial performance and necessary actions. You will establish project governance processes, participate in opportunity and risk identification, ensure mitigation actions are implemented timely, and prepare monthly project reviews jointly with the Project Manager. You will review financial aspects such as estimate at completion, cost-to-complete, revenue forecasting, and cash flow management. You will drive actions to meet forecasts, address bottlenecks and risks, and assess opportunities, ensuring alignment with other functions like Project Controls and Planning. You will also update project review templates and promote commercial awareness within the project team, providing input on contractual conditions, claims, and insurance cases. You will follow up on internal audit reports, ensure compliance with governance and internal controls, and manage taxation matters related to projects, including documentation and closure. You hold a university degree in accounting or finance. You have over 6 years of experience in project business controlling, with expert knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP standards. Leadership skills to manage diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration are essential. You possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills and are capable of working independently. More about us:
