Bartender

Job Description

The Bartender at Ministry of Crab (MOC) Kuala Lumpur will be responsible for preparing a variety of beverages, from classic cocktails to specialty drinks, while delivering exceptional service in a fine dining atmosphere. This role requires efficiency, strong product knowledge, and a dedication to providing an outstanding guest experience. The Bartender will ensure the bar operates smoothly, from drink preparation to inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Beverages Preparation

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of cocktails, mocktails, wines, and other beverages according to MOCs standards and recipes.
  • Assist the mixologist in executing signature cocktails and seasonal menu items with precision and consistency.
  • Maintain an organized, well-stocked bar area, ensuring all tools and ingredients are readily available.

Customer Service & Interaction

  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, making drink recommendations and answering questions about the menu.
  • Create a welcoming environment, building rapport with guests and enhancing their overall dining experience.
  • Handle guest inquiries and concerns with a positive attitude, escalating issues to the manager when needed.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
  • Assist in ordering and replenishing stock, maintaining adequate supplies for daily operations.
  • Track and record bar usage to control costs, prevent waste, and support inventory accuracy.

Bar Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and fully sanitized at all times, meeting health and safety standards.
  • Handle glassware, utensils, and equipment with care, performing routine maintenance as needed.
  • Participate in bar setup and closing procedures, including restocking, cleaning, and organizing supplies.

Support Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the mixologist, waitstaff, and other team members to deliver seamless service during peak hours.
  • Assist in training new bartenders on MOCs standards, recipes, and service style.
  • Support the FOH team with any additional tasks required to ensure smooth service flow.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a bartender in a fine dining or upscale bar environment.
  • Solid understanding of classic cocktails, bar equipment, and beverage service.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per restaurant and bar hours
