Assistant Tax Manager

We are representing our client, a reputable tax consulting firm that provides comprehensive tax solutions, including tax planning, advisory, compliance, and audit support. With a commitment to simplifying complex tax matters, they work closely with clients to ensure tax efficiency, compliance, and strategic planning aligned with business goals.

Job Description:

  • Provide consultation-based tax advisory to clients through the taxPOD platform, addressing a wide range of questions on income tax, SST, RPGT, stamp duty, and more.
  • Act as the primary contact point for clients seeking tax clarity, delivering practical, well-researched, and easy-to-understand guidance.
  • Ensure all consultations are handled with a professional tone, tailored to the clients specific situation, and delivered within the 3-business-day SLA.
  • Guide and support junior advisors in handling client queries and maintaining service quality.
  • Stay current with the latest tax legislation and provide proactive insights to clients during consultations.
  • Collaborate with internal tax specialists to escalate and resolve complex or nuanced client issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of taxPOD by identifying client pain points and helping shape user experience and platform enhancements.
  • Assist in the preparation of client-facing tax content, such as webinar materials, knowledge articles, and FAQ responses to common tax concerns.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance with major in Taxation and/or professional qualification like ACCA, CPA Australia, CTIM, ICAEW or its equivalent.
  • Candidate must have at least 3 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department.
  • Proven ability to conduct extensive research on tax matters.
  • Good tax knowledge and experience in all aspects of tax advisory.
  • Ability to set clear directions and goals for the team.
  • Skills in coaching and developing team members.
  • Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
  • We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: Mon - Fri / 8.30am to 5.30pm (flexi working hours can start in between 7.30am - 9.30am)
