Application Engineer (IT)

Overview We are seeking a Senior IT Application Developer (Contractor) with 5+ years of experience to lead and execute development initiatives across enterprise systems, including:

ServiceNow development and integrations

Intelligent operations tooling and cross-system workflows

UX and business process optimization

This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, end-to-end project ownership, and the ability to work across functions in a global, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities System & Platform Integration

Lead API-based integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise platforms (Microsoft, Atlassian, Miro, Zoom, Workday, internal Finance/OA systems)

Design and implement reusable, secure, and scalable integration patterns (REST/SOAP)

Create and maintain integration architecture documentation

Enhance ServiceNow ITAM/ITSM modules to streamline software lifecycle management

Automate license provisioning/de-provisioning, contract workflows, and asset audits

Build data dashboards to improve compliance, visibility, and decision-making

Develop internal tools that automate IT workflows, monitoring, or reporting tasks

Use ServiceNow Flow Designer, Business Rules, Scripted REST APIs, and external APIs

Build bots or auto-response capabilities integrated with chat platforms or ServiceNow Virtual Agent

UX & Business Process Design

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient business processes and intuitive application flows

Implement accessible, maintainable UI/UX improvements for internal applications

Lead end-to-end implementation of assigned projects, from requirements to deployment

Act as technical lead in cross-functional collaborations and mentor junior team members

Facilitate agile ceremonies, technical documentation, and stakeholder updates

Who Were Looking For

5+ years of experience in enterprise application development, system integration, and IT operations automation

Deep knowledge of ServiceNow platform, including scripting, ITSM, ITAM, and integrations

Strong development experience with REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth, JSON/XML, and custom connectors

Hands-on experience with intelligent operations tooling, such as AI-powered chatbots, virtual agents, RPA, and AI/ML for IT process automation

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)

Fluent in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) for effective communication with global stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or System Administrator

Experience with license/asset compliance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ISO, SAM)

Background in IT environments for tech, finance, or large-scale global enterprises

Experience with RPA, chatbots, or AI-enhanced IT operations

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering

5+ years of experience with enterprise application development and systems integration

Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is required

Strong communication skills and ability to work across cultural and functional boundaries
