Senior Manager - Shipping

• A centralized function to lead the shipping team located at all manufacturing sites to deliver efficient services to internal customers and excellent services to meet external customer expectations.
• Accountable for import and export operational control and documentation to achieve overall organisational goals and objectives.
• To coordinate with relevant departments in ensuring customer sales orders are shipped on time, with complete and timely document submission and in compliance to any regulatory requirement.
• Ability to perform cost analysis based on mode, service level, origin and destination, etc.
• Ability to identify and monitor total costs incurred to the organization which includes carrier costs, claims, delays, storage and handling etc.
• Manage relationships with shipping carriers, freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure reliable service and cost efficiency.
• Address any shipping-related issues or disruptions swiftly to minimize impact on operations and customer satisfaction.
• Organize training for staff on shipping processes, compliance requirements, and safety protocols.

Job Responsibilities

• Liaise closely with sales/marketing dept. on related customer order details and shipment issue and initiate discussion or recommend and implement effective solution when necessary.
• Identify the bottlenecks of the shipping process and enhance the process flow in order to increase working efficiency, customer satisfaction and eliminate human error.
• Lead the team to work with MIS or vendor to automate/digitize the flow of information in order to have full visibility of delivery status of shipments
• Establish and periodically review the team achievement on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to shipping and to come out with necessary improvement plan.
• Coordinate cross department efforts in meeting On Time Delivery (OTD) for shipment to customers as per shipping schedule.
• Work closely with warehouse loading team on resources planning to maximize loading activity and maintain FG stock level at optimum level.
• To create and implement policies, procedure and work instruction for shipping department.
• To check shipping documents to be in accordance to customer and regulatory requirement and approve document where necessary.
• Ensure all shipments and scrap sales are properly and accurately invoiced as well as to ensure payment is secured before shipping is made for advance payment term.
• Ensure timely management reporting on OTD, shipping and sales at group level.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Closely supervise/monitor the productivity levels of the units staff in order to make sure that goals/targets are reached.
• Keep abreast with current best practices on shipping management to lead, facilitate, train and mentor the team towards continuous improvements in shipping operations.

• Knowledge of Forwarding process and Shipping system and operations.

• Bachelor Degree in SCM or Logistics Management or relate.
• Minimum 8 years management experience in SCM, warehouse and logistic.
