Responsibilities

Accountabilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Perform on-floor engagement and administrative tasks at a ratio of 75% / 25%.
  2. Maintain, coordinate, and communicate environmental health and safety processes and procedures at the site level.
  3. Conduct site audits related to environmental health and safety programs and initiatives.
  4. Ensure compliance with GXO EHS procedures by employees and contractors.
  5. Ensure workplace safety and health compliance according to Client EHS procedures at Client facilities.
  6. Monitor and support all GXO logistics activities at Client facilities.
  7. Support and oversee new and critical EHS initiatives.
  8. Identify risks during activities and collaborate with Operations to mitigate them using the hierarchy of controls.
  9. Ensure completion and resolution of EHS action items for facilities and processes.
  10. Review, analyze, develop, and communicate environmental health and safety programs; develop action plans as needed.
  11. Lead safety meetings, training, and continuing education sessions.
  12. Initiate and complete safety incident reports, RCCAs, and customer reporting as required.
  13. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis / Risk Assessments at the site level.
  14. Execute Safety Program projects as directed by the site leader and Regional Safety Manager.
  15. Conduct ESD testing and maintain records.
  16. Promote DG awareness.

    17. Requirements:

  • Registered competent Safety and Health Officer with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Mandatory PPE must be worn during tasks: High Vis Vest and Safety Shoes for warehouse activities; Safety Shoes and Ear Protection for client locations.
  • Ability to work in environments with noise levels exceeding 85dB if required.
