- Deliver high-quality Bahasa Malaysia lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the schools curriculum.
- Support both native and non-native speakers in achieving language proficiency.
- Use differentiated instruction to meet a variety of student needs and language abilities.
- Create a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment.
- Plan lessons based on school curriculum guidelines and Cambridge IGCSE standards (if applicable).
- Collaborate with language department colleagues on schemes of work and lesson planning.
- Integrate cultural elements and real-world contexts to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor student progress and provide targeted support when needed.
- Encourage student participation and foster a love for the Malay language and culture.
- Offer academic support beyond the classroom as required.
- Serve as a form tutor (if assigned), supporting students pastoral and academic wellbeing.
- Design and administer appropriate assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare student reports and attend parent-teacher meetings as scheduled.
- Actively participate in department and school-wide meetings, events, and CPD opportunities.
- Contribute to co-curricular programmes, school events, and community engagement.
- Uphold school policies and support the schools mission and values.
- Promote and follow the schools safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Ensure student safety during all lessons and school activities.
- Report any safeguarding or welfare concerns appropriately and promptly.
- Bachelors degree in Education.
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Bahasa Malaysia in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia language pedagogy and curriculum requirements.
- Ability to support a range of language learners (native and non-native speakers).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and lesson organisation.
- Commitment to collaborative planning and reflective practice.
