Account Executive - Malaysia

Summary

The Client Team (comprising Client Services and Client Development functions) undertakes a wide range of responsibilities in driving billups business forward, developing and nurturing client and partner relationships. As part of our Client Services function, the Account Executive role collaborates closely with peers, Assistant(s), Senior Account Executive(s), Account Manager(s), Senior Account Manager(s), Account Director(s) and Senior Account Director(s) in:

Media Planning & Buying:

  1. Support the day-to-day management of your clients, effectively servicing them, and proactively contributing to growing client and agency business.
  2. Support the Client Development function with the creation of, or access to, materials or content.
  3. Ability to explain your media plan rationale to your line managers and work on translating that into client decks and emails, ensuring that your recommendation is delivered on the client brief.
  4. Media plan development, RFP collation, grid development, DOmedia utilization, Platform/mapping, Planning tools & systems, posting instructions, creating POP reports, etc.
  5. Small-level plan/project development/ownership, low-level negotiations, and managing client relationships with high-level oversight from the line manager are the main tasks.

Project Management:

  1. Assist in managing shared file drive systems, ensuring all documents and content are appropriately saved and regularly updated.
  2. Compile, organize, and maintain accurate, up-to-date campaign files such as buy specs, decks, POP, etc.
  3. With oversight, responsible for Billups delivery in ensuring the timely activation of media campaigns for your clients.
  4. Track campaign start dates and ensure everything is ready to go live on time; liaise with relevant vendors to manage artwork delivery and approval processes.
  5. With oversight, responsible campaign reporting for your clients - access ‘Proof of Posting (POP) and Campaign Attribution, ensuring this is received by clients and/or their agencies in a timely fashion.
  6. Generate consistency and maintain high accuracy in all work through the adoption of appropriate templates and guidelines, ensuring operational excellence.
  7. Juggle multiple project deadlines without compromising quality.
  8. Help coordinate calendars to arrange team meetings or presentations.
  9. Adopt and understand required tools and systems.

Relationships:

  1. Develop strong personal relationships with your day-to-day agency, client, and media vendor contacts, building trust and collaboration.
  2. Attendance of relevant client/partner/industry events. Travel, as required.
  3. Build supplier relationships on a daily basis regarding the development and execution of industry-leading OOH planning.

Thought Leadership:

  1. Develop and grow your industry knowledge through (i) meeting and event attendance, (ii) company training, (iii) conducting site visits, (iv) engaging with Billups communication platforms. Sharing knowledge and best practices across the wider team and business.
  2. Advocate Billups mission/vision/purpose, strategies, and services, across your clients.
  3. Attend and contribute to wider company initiatives, including social events, town halls, etc.
  4. Read advertising and business trades to understand the changing media landscape.

Training & Development:

  1. Support team Assistant(s) on their learning of foundational work. Assist with training/mentoring junior team members.

Business Development:

  1. Help Account Manager(s) and Senior Account Manager(s) with new business opportunities and project related tasks.
  2. Learn to identify ways of delivering organic and diversified revenue growth within media plans and help convert these.

Department Collaboration:

  1. Support your team with client marketing needs such as gathering competitive information, writing market profiles, and pulling geopath reports.
  2. Supporting POP on the Hive.
  3. Collaborate with the Investment Team for alignment and optimization across markets and vendors.
  4. Help liaise with wider Billups centralized resources within existing or new conversations - for example, Marketing, PlatSol, and Design Teams.

  1. Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Follow process and enhance it as needed to ensure quality consistency.
  2. Adopt tools and systems; contribute to their development and deployment as required, including participating in requirement definition and testing periods.
  3. Timely completion of all assigned company training.
  4. Lead by example and operate internally and externally with professionalism at all times.
  5. Other duties as assigned by Senior Account Executives, Account Manager(s), Senior Account Managers, and leadership.

Required Media Experience: 1 - 2 years

  1. A solid foundation of the planning process, including, but not limited to, RFP collation, grid development, DOmedia, Platform/mapping, planning tools and systems, posting instructions, creating POP reports, etc.
  2. A base knowledge of the OOH media landscape, including client and supplier news and activity.
  3. The desire and ability to learn new markets and work with local teams across multiple regions.
  4. A growth mindset with the confidence to apply this within your work.
  5. Possible experience in negotiating pricing and booking campaigns.
  6. The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  7. The desire to grow yourself and billups business.

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university with a degree preferred in the following areas of study: advertising, media or related field; 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
