Sustaining Engineer, Primary Storage

This position provides Engineering level assistance for our customers, partners, and sales teams. As a Sustaining Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting software, hardware, and networking in a fast-paced, and expanding primary storage market. Primary responsibilities include being the interface for our primary storage engineering team by handling customer issues that have been escalated from our customer support group. The ideal candidate will have industry experience in a sustaining engineering support group along with software development to help in troubleshooting. Job Duties:

Quickly analyze customer issues live or through logs/cores/kdumps to isolate product issues or environmental configurations. Work directly with development engineering, test, service engineers to develop tactical solutions for customer issues. Duplicate customer issues as needed to facilitate troubleshooting. Oversee and administer internal Engineering lab. Review code to mitigate or fix customer issues. Participate in the Sustaining On-call rotation. Job Requirements:

BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in sustaining engineering, maintenance, support, and other customer-related areas. 3+ years experience working in a Linux environment. 3+ years of software development experience in C or C++. Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell scripting, etc. Experience with debugging tools like GDB. Experience with Git and Jira. Experience with object storage systems. Experience with distributed systems. Experience with advanced networking configurations is highly desirable. Knowledge of storage technologies such as RAID, VTL, NAS (NFS/CIFS), Fibre Channel, iSCSI is highly desirable. Experience with databases is highly desirable. Experience with REST APIs is highly desirable. Ability to multitask effectively and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
