ABOUT THE POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create high-quality benchmark environment assets that define the visual and technical standard for the project.
  • Ensure all content meets artistic quality expectations while staying within engine, performance, and technical limitations.
  • Work comfortably across multiple art styles, adapting to different visual directions and project requirements.
  • Contribute to the teams success by tackling art tests and delivering results that help secure projects for the studio.
  • Collaborate closely with Lead Artists, Art Directors, and cross-discipline teams to ensure environment assets meet gameplay, performance, and art style.
  • Accept and act on feedback to improve personal output and elevate the quality of the teams work.
  • Analyze and improve environment art pipelines, supporting Leads and Art Directors in creating and maintaining documentation.
  • Proactively identify workflow improvements and adopt new industry tools, AI-assisted workflows, and procedural generation techniques to enhance production quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical or artistic issues related to environment art.
  • Mentor and support junior artists, helping them align with quality and production expectations and grow their artistic and technical skills.
  • Participate in planning sessions by providing accurate estimates, reliable progress data, and delivery confidence insights for environment tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Participate in planning sessions by providing accurate estimates, reliable progress data, and delivery confidence insights for environment tasks.
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional environment art, including hard-surface and organic assets, world-building, props, modular kits, materials, lighting, and environmental storytelling.
  • Advanced knowledge of game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, and environment art workflows including modular design, asset optimization, and scene composition.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools.
  • Experience analyzing and improving pipelines, documenting workflows, and supporting production with process efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for both artistic and technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to accept and integrate feedback constructively.
  • A genuine passion for games and game art, with an understanding of how visual design enhances player experience.
  • Forward-thinking approach, staying up to date on emerging tools, AI workflows, and procedural generation to push art quality and production efficiency.
  • Previous mentoring experience or demonstrated ability to support junior artists in both skill development and production alignment.
