Planning Manager

Job description

Production & Material Planning:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.

  • Manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and ingredients while minimizing waste and excess inventory.

  • Monitor capacity constraints, production bottlenecks, and propose solutions to ensure schedule adherence.

  • Maintain safety stock levels and support business continuity planning.

ERP/MRP Implementation & Optimization:

  • Lead or actively participate in the setup, customization, and implementation of MRP/ERP systems.

  • Map and optimize planning processes to fully leverage system capabilities.

  • Ensure accurate data migration and system integration across supply chain, production, and inventory modules.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of junior planners/planning executives to execute daily, weekly, and monthly planning activities.

  • Delegate tasks effectively while ensuring planning targets are met on time.

  • Build team capability through coaching, mentoring, and cross-functional training.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Production, QA, Warehouse, and Sales teams to align planning activities with overall business objectives.

  • Support product launches and changes in production processes.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

  • Track and report key planning metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Forecast Accuracy and Inventory Turns.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement lean planning processes to reduce lead times and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for planning deviations and implement corrective actions.

Requirement

·      Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Food Science, or related field.

·      Minimum 5-8 years of experience in production and material planning within the food manufacturing industry.

·      Proven track record in implementing or setting up ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.

·      Strong knowledge of planning principles, inventory management, and capacity planning.

·      Proficient in ERP/MRP tools and Microsoft Excel.

·      Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
