Legal Manager - East Asia (Hybrid)
About the Role
This position will be reporting directly to the Head of Legal, East Asia. The incumbent is responsible to handle regulatory compliance, contract management, and corporate legal affairs to ensure smooth business operations while mitigating legal risk. Responsibilities
Draft, review and negotiate of contracts and legal documents. Provide advice on a variety of legal issues related to the business of the company. Advise the relevant stakeholders on contract status and ensure the company interests are at all times protected. Update contract database on regular basis and ensure timely stamping of executed contracts. Perform legal research and keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company. Assist supervisor to manage and coordinate with companys external lawyers and external company secretaries on all legal matters. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Law from a recognized university and a qualified Advocate & Solicitor in Malaysia. 5 - 8 years post-qualification experience, preferably with a combination of legal firm and in-house legal exposure. Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulatory compliance would be an added advantage. Proven track record in managing legal risks, contract negotiation, and litigation. Solid experience in drafting and negotiating various types of contracts. Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex legal concepts simply and practically. High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proactive, independent, and able to work with minimal supervision while also being a team player. Comfortable working in a lean team and willing to take a hands-on approach when necessary.
