Job Description: As bp transitions to an integrated energy company, we must adapt to a changing world and maintain competitive performance. bps customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, using technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working with other functions across bp. This is an exciting time to join bp and the customers & products team.
The Global Procurement Contract Manager is responsible for driving improved value, compliance, and effective risk management within the sourcing process through effective contract creation, development, and management. This role will also support operational activities in the Castrol Directs Procurement Function within BP, such as training, coaching internal partners, and process mapping.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Source to Contract process and activities, ensuring fit for purpose in Castrol.
- Ensure procurement compliance to all contract-related BP policies, mandated training, sustainability implications, and contractual content requirements.
- Create and maintain a high-performance culture across the Contracts team.
- Work with the Global Operations & Compliance Manager to review and develop the Procurement teams learning, development, and capability requirements.
- Drive improvements in risk profile and operational efficiency through key change programmes like e-sourcing, contracts compliance, and contracting effectiveness.
- Own the contract writing process, including process mapping and design in collaboration with Group procurement.
- Coordinate with GBS and BP Group to align policies and optimize resources, systems, and processes.
- Develop and implement training plans to embed new ways of working.
- Oversee contracting excellence initiatives, supporting processes and tools.
- Provide analytics, reporting, and support activities related to contracts compliance within Lubricants Procurement.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the perception of operational procurement value.
- Participate in safety initiatives and driver safety compliance.
- Lead and build consensus on mandatory requirements and actions for S2C deployment and operations.
- Manage the delivery of contracting excellence programmes, including supporting processes and tools.
- Graduate or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Deep knowledge of contracting processes, tools, and systems, preferably in the “directs” sector, with understanding of critical clauses and T&Cs.
- Strong contracting practitioner background, either legal or procurement, or both.
- Excellent partner management and engagement skills across multiple levels and countries.
- Proven track record in sourcing processes within a large, complex, global organization, ideally with multi-billion dollar spends.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and assist others in workload management.
