Equipment Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Participate in project teams to develop comprehensive specifications (hardware and/or software) for equipment with minimal functionality such as fixtures, PLCs, and simple Visual Basic applications. Provide project estimates with assistance from senior/principle engineers. Submit specifications, protocols, and reports for approval and documentation control via a Change Request. Develop comprehensive software validation and/or equipment installation qualification protocols as per the specifications. Execute software validation and/or qualification protocols and record results. Document, communicate, and follow up on software/equipment issues. Complete project deliverables and monitor project schedule and scope changes to ensure the team can meet delivery requirements. Create documents, links, and Change Requests utilizing a Product Data Management system. Provide basic information on software validations and equipment installation qualifications. Support equipment installation, qualification, and retrofits. Manage equipment failure incidents, outlining impact on the business, recovery plans, and resources required. Generate weekly and monthly metrics on equipment downtime, MTTR, MTBF, costs, improvement activities, PM compliance, and resource management. Ensure work carried out as part of Primo complies with procedures. Manage spares usage. Lead the Area Improvement Team Meetings to achieve pre-determined goals. Continuously promote the upskilling of Maintenance Technicians with TSG and other setup documents. Requirements

Minimum degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, including designing, developing, and implementing equipment systems to meet production and process requirements. Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and prior experience in the medical device industry is preferred. Required skills include: Equipment Design and Maintenance: understanding mechanical, electrical, and control systems; automation and PLC programming; familiarity with PLCs and automation tools; root cause analysis techniques like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, or FMEA. Project Management: managing equipment-related projects such as upgrades, relocations, and capacity expansions; coordinating with vendors and contractors for procurement and installation; willingness to travel if required.
