Business Development (Shipping Liner)

The Business Development role in Sinotrans Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd, handling shipping liners, focuses on driving sales, expanding market reach, and building strong client relationships. The role often involves developing and executing business development strategies aligned with the companys goals, managing sales planning and forecasting, and identifying new business opportunities within the shipping liner sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Sales & Business Development:

Exceed sales targets, increase market share, and develop strategies to achieve these goals.

Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, providing excellent customer service and support. 

Sales Planning & Forecasting:

Manage sales planning, forecast orders, and contribute to resource allocation decisions. 

Market Research & Analysis:

Identify new business opportunities and assess market trends within the shipping liner industry. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, such as Customs Services, Documentation, and Container Management, to ensure smooth shipping processes. 

Cost Management:

Monitor and manage costs associated with shipping operations, including port fees, container handling, and other related expenses. 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES :

Proven track record: Demonstrated success in sales, business development, or a related field within the shipping or logistics industry. 

Strong communication & interpersonal skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients and colleagues. 

Customer-focused: Ability to understand and meet customer needs, providing excellent service and support. 

Problem-solving & analytical skills: Ability to identify and solve problems, analyze data, and make informed decisions. 

Knowledge of shipping & logistics: Familiarity with shipping procedures, documentation, and regulations. 

Proficiency in relevant software: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
