We are seeking a strategic Value Centre General Manager to lead and optimize a value stream, encompassing strategic, financial, operational, and people leadership. This role involves developing vision, owning the backlog, and driving P&L. The ideal candidate will have extensive financial services or product management experience, a track record of leading cross-functional teams, and expertise in continuous improvement, data-driven decisions, and risk/compliance. This is a key opportunity to directly impact business value. This role reports to the Managing Director of Personal Financial Services. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the specific value stream, ensuring seamless alignment with the bank's overall business objectives and mission. (This is the most critical strategic point, as it sets the foundation for all other work). Hold full accountability for the business performance of assigned programs and customers, including sales, Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT), and proactive cost reduction initiatives. (This is the most important financial point, as it defines the ultimate measure of success for the role). Lead and manage integrated cross-functional teams, coordinating all functional disciplines throughout the product or service lifecycle. (This point is crucial for leadership and execution, highlighting the need to break down silos and drive collaboration). Proactively identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with all business activities under their purview. (This is essential for a role in a regulated industry like banking, ensuring stability and compliance). Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the value stream. (This point emphasizes a data-driven approach, which is vital for making informed decisions and driving continuous improvement). Strategic Vision & Alignment: Develop clear visions and align initiatives with business objectives. Financial Stewardship: Strong P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost/revenue expertise in financial services. Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and motivate diverse teams, fostering collaboration. Risk & Compliance Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks; strong knowledge of financial regulations and data privacy. Client Centricity: Focus on understanding and delivering customer value; strong client relationship management. Jobholder Requirements: Education/Qualification: Degree holder in relevant field. Experience/Requirements: 8 years and above relevant experience. Strong Preference: Extensive experience in financial services or product management disciplines. Essential: Demonstrated management and/or leadership experience, particularly in leading diverse cross-functional teams. Valued: Proven experience in process improvement and implementation, coupled with a strong understanding of Lean principles and methodologies. Beneficial: Experience with Agile, SAFe, and other technical software delivery methodologies. Advantageous: Prior program management or project engineering experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and process mapping. Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, enabling the ability to articulate complex concepts and negotiate effectively with various stakeholders. Demonstrated executive presence. Strong client relationship management skills. In-depth knowledge of banking, regulatory, and compliance policies, including applicable laws, rules, and regulations (non-negotiable).
