Chief Technology Officer

Job Purpose :

The CTO is responsible for building and execution the IT and technology related strategy for the company by combining professional expertise with corresponding technical know-how. In his/her capacity the CTO oversees the cooperative model with the DOs and related services that are being delivered to the branches globally.He/she has a clear vision of the business objective his/her region,continually develops it and works with the Management team to define strategic guidelines. The CTO is responsible for implementing an agile leadership philosophy and consistently applying agile working methods. He/she promotes the future-readiness of the team members by creating the conditions for an agile, professional and digital mindset to grow and develop. In addition, identifying the IT related risk and manage the associated risks accordingly with the aim to deliver services in most cost-efficient manner.

Key Activities :

Leadership / IT

• Provides strong leadership support to his/her management team and represents IT related topics in local management committee.
• Development of local managers.
• Monitors market developments and trends to be able to adjust the definedstrategy when needed.
• Build-up of DO related IT services such as Application, Testing, Network, Database, Developers, Infrastructure, IT Operating, Active Defense center etc in close cooperation with cluster leads and relevant chapters.
• Continuous analysisof IT related cost to deliver best cost benefit.
• Define Technology and IT strategyfor company.
• Ensuring and optimizing productivity, efficiency, and the qualityof work in own area of responsibility.
• Obligation to cooperate in cross-cluster management.
• Creating the conditions/culture to develop and share specialised knowledge and to implement the agile working method in own area of responsibility; promoting initiative, drive, cooperation, customer and service focus, team spirit and entrepreneurship in team members;leading team membersby example and through a dialogue in a spirit of partnership; support of career advancement, taking into account individual potential as operational conditions permit.

• Adherence to the bank’s governance policies and procedures and related Compliance tasks within the 1stLine of Defence concept of the bank.
• Adherence to defined Values and integrity of CGSS and Commerzbank Group.
• Acting in line with the Code of Conduct and especially always uphold the Culture of Integrity.

Miscellaneous

• Mentoring of respective heads

Formal education:

• University degree

or

• Commercial training (e.g.,vocational training as a bank clerk), possibly supplemented by a Certificate in Banking Services and Operations ("Bankfachwirt"), supplemented by additional specialised qualifications in the form of a dual degree programme (e.g., through a vocational academy / university) completed parallel to vocational training or while working.
• Proof of adequate qualifications

Other language such as German or Mandarin will be a plus
