Whats the job?

You will oversee day-to-day operations of the sanctions screening team, ensuring timely resolution of alerts and adherence to quality standards. Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on complex cases and escalation protocols. Review and approve escalated alerts and decisions, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance. Monitor team performance, allocate workloads, and support resource planning based on operational needs. Conduct quality assurance reviews and deliver feedback to support team development and performance improvement. Liaise with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and IT teams to resolve issues and enhance screening processes. Support system tuning, testing, upgrades, and vendor-related activities to optimize sanctions screening tools. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global sanctions regimes and ensure team awareness of regulatory changes. Prepare and deliver MI reports, metrics, and dashboards to track performance and identify sanctions risk trends. Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and training materials for the screening function.

What are we looking for?

You will have at least 8 years prior experience in sanctions screening, financial crime compliance, or a related field. Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of global sanctions frameworks (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU, UK HMT). Hands-on experience with sanctions screening tools. Proven ability to manage, develop, and lead a high-performing team. Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
